Teeth Whitening

Having your teeth whitened is a fantastic way of giving your smile and confidence a boost either for a special occasion, an important meeting, or just because you feel like it.

Why do our teeth discolour?

There are many reasons why teeth can become discoloured. Simple things like drinking tea, coffee, red wine, smoking and even some types of medication taken as a child will stain and darken teeth. Unfortunately as we grow older our teeth can become darker naturally as well. Fear not we can help!!!!

Is it safe, how does it work?

Teeth whitening is simple and safe. The oxygen from the active ingredients of the whitening gel permeates the enamel surface and removes the organic deposits from the pores within your teeth. Your tooth structure remains unchanged but your teeth appear noticeably cleaner and whiter.

What types of tooth whitening exist?

There are two principal methods by which teeth can be whitened. They are best described as Home Whitening and In-Surgery Whitening. To achieve the ultimate in whiter teeth it is best to use a combination of the above methods  as combing the two methods of whitening increases the  tooth's permeability  to oxygen.

Does it hurt?

Teeth whitening is an uncomplicated and painless procedure. Some people may feel slight sensitivity during the whitening process which will disappear once the teeth whitening is complete.

Will they look too white?

No Natural teeth can never look too white.

How long does it last?

Tooth whitening should last several years but this is dependent on lifestyle, the types of foods you eat and natural structure of the teeth. You can prolong the effect by simple maintenance, as instructed by us, and  when necessary, the tooth whitening treatment can be re-applied.

Is it worth having your teeth whitened?

We have found that our patients of all ages are delighted with their results. An initial consultation is required to assess each case before treatment commences.
