Dermal Fillers

How do they the work?
Dermal fillers are used to plump up the skin, refine facial contours, smooth out wrinkles and furrows and enhance lips. The result of treatment leaves your skin looking younger and healthier, whilst still maintaining a natural look.

What are they made from?
The fillers we use are made from a substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body, it is a natural part of our skin that exists in abundance in our youth; it attracts water, resulting in plumpness and hydration of our skin. As its presence diminishes with age facial lines folds and wrinkles appear.

Is it safe?
As hyaluronic acid based fillers are non-animal based these are fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required, and it is broken down and eliminated by the body through natural processes.

Does it hurt?
Prior to any dermal filler treatment a mild anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for your comfort. Local anaesthetic is also used when necessary.

How long does it last?
Results can vary according to a person’s age, genetic background, skin quality, lifestyle and aftercare. In general it normally lasts for an average of 4 - 6 months.

Why have fillers?
Not only can fillers help disguise lines furrows and wrinkles they can also help enhance and define lips and also improve facial contour which can make such a difference.
