Snoring solutions
Is Snoring a problem in your house?
45% of the UK adult population suffers because of snoring and their partner’s dread every single night of it.
You could consider throat surgery but it’s not something that many want, especially since the outcome is very uncertain.
Why do we Snore?
It usually occurs when you naturally relax during sleep and your lower jaw and tongue drop back against the back of your throat. This constricts the airway partially closing it and your body reacts by intensifying your breathing. The increased velocity of air vibrates the throats soft tissues and creates the snoring noise.
Some snorers stop snoring and also stop breathing only to start snoring and breathing again a few seconds later often accompanied by a chocke, gasp or snort. Every time we stop breathing our bodies are starved of oxygen.
Snoring has an immense impact on the quality of life for the snorer; it can contribute to other serious health and lifestyle issues such as:
- Increased blood pressure
- Increased risk of diabetes
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Headaches
- Relationship issues
- Reduced Sex drive.
We have helped may of our patients overcome this problem by fitting a simple oral appliance that is worn while you sleep which prevents snoring in most cases.
It’s easy, safe and can save your sanity
